Welcome Dr. John Crisler to the Defy Medical Team

Defy Medical is proud to welcome Dr John Crisler to our team. Dr. John began practicing medicine in 2002 as a doctor of Osteopathic medicine, and almost immediately began to focus on interventional therapies designed to treat disease caused by low hormone production. His journey into the field of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) started when he began working with athletes to reverse secondary hypogonadism caused by anabolic steroid use. Dr. Crisler became an expert on the testosterone axis and how to modulate sex hormones to reverse deficiencies and imbalances. He has published two papers providing doctors guidance on how to best prescribe TRT--the most highly read in the history of Endocrinology--and his paper on using Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) during TRT has been used by countless doctors as the standard protocol to preserve testicular size, as well as other benefits, during TRT. Over the years his focus has expanded to Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome and thyroid disorders, providing diagnosis and treatment for both men and women.

Dr. Crisler has provided his expertise in working with hormones as a lecturer for the Age Management Medical Group (AMMG), and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), and has trained practitioners around the world who have requested his mentorship. Dr. Crisler is looking forward to bringing his experienced care to our patients and working with our Medical Director to continue the high standard of care we strive for. He currently maintains a successful private practice in Lansing Michigan.

Dr Crisler is now available to provide treatment at Defy Medical. You may request your consultation with Dr Crisler when scheduling your appointment.

Dr Crisler has authored a new book which will be available on Amazon in March. We will announce the date soon!

An update to the Crisler HCG protocol

In my paper "My Current Best Thoughts on How to Administer TRT for Men", published in A4M's 2004/5 Anti-Aging Clinical Protocols, I introduced a new protocol where small doses of Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) are regularly added to traditional TRT (either weekly IM testosterone cypionate or daily cream/gel). The reasons and benefits of this protocol are as follows, along with a new improvement I wish to share Read More

Learn why L-Glutathione is important for Immune Function and to Protect your Liver Common Toxins

L-Glutathione is an amino acid which serves as a powerful detoxifier. It protects the liver from harmful toxins and is required for the immune system to function optimally. Since L-Glutathione is poorly absorbed when supplemented orally it is best taken by injection. Read More

Testosterone helps to bind antidepressants in the brain
Female sex hormones have a strong effect on the psyche. This has been confirmed by numerous scientific studies and by phenomena such as the "baby blues," a bout of low mood following childbirth, or recurrent mood swings that occur prior to menstruation. However the male sex hormone testosterone also affects our mood and emotions, as well as our libido -- and in a positive way. Read More
