What’s the Cost of TRT at Defy Medical?

Back to All Defy Medical Health Articles & Resources

An estimated 40% of men have low Testosterone by the time they’re 45 or older.

Younger men are also increasingly experiencing low T because of health, lifestyle, and environmental factors.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy can replenish Testosterone levels over time, leading to symptom relief.

Every patient’s physiology is unique, so a quality TRT plan should be individualized. You may also require supplemental medication to help you feel your best. Because your TRT protocol can vary, prices will vary as well.

Read on to learn more about TRT and the costs associated with it.

Before we dive into cost, here are a few things to know about TRT.

The best TRT plan is based on your overall health and hormone levels, your needs and goals, and regular follow-up to keep you on track.

Primary Care physicians and urologists are often unfamiliar with TRT. They may not offer you the full range of available options, and their plans may not be customized enough to optimize your levels. They also may not have time to treat TRT patients due to the depth of care needed.

Some clinics offer a cookie-cutter TRT program for a flat monthly fee, but these plans don’t typically offer customization. It’s crucial to have a plan designed around your hormone levels, response to treatment, and needs. These clinics also might not offer supplemental medications that are necessary for best results.

Defy Medical patients know the cost of their treatment and pay for exactly what they need – and nothing they don’t.

So, what does TRT cost at Defy Medical?

Defy Medical’s cost for a male TRT patient on a Testosterone protocol that includes supplemental medication averages out to $220 per month for the first year, and around $175 per month after that. This includes medications, lab work, and consultations.*

*This is a cost estimate based on the average TRT male patient experience. Your cost for care may be more or less depending on the severity of your deficiency as well as your symptoms, goals, medication dosages, delivery system(s), and auxiliary medications (if prescribed). This figure is meant for illustrative purposes and is not a price guarantee. Defy Medical does not charge a monthly fee and charges are due at the time that the service is purchased. Third-party financing is also available to qualifying Defy Medical patients. To learn more about costs and financing, talk to a Patient Advocate today.

No monthly fees – plus financing options available.

Defy Medical simply charges patients for the services and medications they need when they need them. We also offer access to financing for qualified patients if that works better for your budget.

Does insurance cover TRT?

Unfortunately, TRT and low T are often misunderstood and seldom covered by insurance.

Many traditional healthcare providers don’t consider men with significant low T symptoms to be candidates for TRT – even if blood testing shows lower levels. In fact, traditional providers sometimes require at least two blood test results showing low Testosterone prior to prescribing, and the window of what’s considered low is typically too narrow.

Many times, patients have to jump through hoops to even have Testosterone prescribed.

Insurance providers have a similarly narrow view of TRT. The majority of insurance providers will not cover the costs of a comprehensive TRT protocol because it is often not deemed essential.

If your provider does prescribe TRT and your insurance will cover it, the protocol likely won’t be individualized enough to replenish your low T levels.

It probably also won’t include ancillary medications like aromatase inhibitors (medications that slow the production of estrogen) which many patients require to feel their best. This has been the experience of many Defy Medical patients who try a traditional health care provider and insurance prior to switching their care to us.

Defy Medical offers individualized protocols created by experts in Men’s Health, and we help our patients access a wide range of TRT options for greater customization.
